Amiee graduated from CSNN in 2014 as a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant™, and is currently practicing in beautiful Cape Breton, NS. She completed the Advanced Nutrition Certificate in “Cognitive Support” (Mood Disorders, ADHD, Alzheimer's, Depression, etc.) and continued on with her mental health education by taking her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

Once Amiee completes her practical hours for her Masters she plans to re-open her private practice and will offer psychotherapy with her nutrition counselling.

As a mental health therapist and holistic nutrition professional, Amiee is able to incorporate the whole person including the food you eat to your innermost beliefs about yourself that shape who you are as a person.

As a mental health therapist Amiee uses a client-centered approach by being warm, empathic, non-judgmental and non–directive while helping you to change your automatic beliefs and thoughts that may leave you with anxiety, depression and prevent you from meeting your goals. Amiee also prides herself on understanding the gut-brain connection and how it can contribute to mental health illnesses.

Amiee's models of therapy is a more eclectic type of counselling which includes: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfullness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care.

Amiee believes that every client is unique and that not all models will work for every person. She believes that getting to know her clients first before committing to a model is the best approach.
